The beginning of the month saw the annual National Cask Ale Week (1 – 9 October) and as always it was jam packed full of great events in pubs across the country. It was particularly exciting for us here at Cask Marque as our CaskFinder app launched ‘The World’s Biggest Ale Trail’.
This new feature of the app, which is available for iPhone and Android, offers customers the chance to use the Ale Trail’s QR scanner to capture QR codes placed on Cask Marque certificates in the 7,500 accredited pubs.
The app records the number of pubs visited and rewards prizes for milestones of 25, 50 and 100 pubs. Once you have scanned 100 pub barcodes you become a Cask Marque ambassador, which includes the opportunity to spend the day with an assessor, visiting a number of pubs to see how Cask Marque ensure a quality pint.
How does it work? Well it is pretty simple:
- Download the CaskFinder app from the app store (iPhone) or Android Market.
- Click on the Ale Trail button and register (only needs to be done once)
- Press the scan code button and scan the QR code on Cask Marque certificates in pubs
So the challenge has been set and 100 pubs is the gold prize. Download the upgraded version of CaskFinder straightaway to start your very own World’s Biggest Ale Trail. Keep us updated on your adventures, with photographs, on our Cask Marque Facebook page. Happy aleing!
